High speed gear install

What I’m staring with:

Came off nice and easy:

It was much more difficult getting the key out though:

Pressing the gear on:

I made sure I did a good job cleaning out all the oil and old loctite from the threads.  Soaked the bolts in acetone to get them clean as well:

Everything clean and ready to go:

The input shaft needed new bearings, so on to that:

I wanted to make sure that the force applied to seating the next bearing was being put on the input shaft and not the bearing.  This socket fits within the inner race of the installed bearing:

A little hard to see it, but the assembly is resting on that socket and no pressure is being put on the bottom bearing.
